2014 Garden Competition

2014 Garden Competition

This year we are running a new style Gardening Competition and there are two types of Gardening Competition entrants !

Tenants who wish to enter themselves for the competition - categories are:

  •  Best Garden (for any type of garden, including: large, small, back or front garden, hanging baskets / containers)
  •  Best New Garden (for tenants who have lived at the property for less than 2 years)

Tenants who are nominated by others - Neat and tidy gardens can make a difference to the area that you live and so NFDC Officers will be looking out for gardens that they can nominate for an award. If you know someone who deserves recognition because they take the time and trouble to keep their garden looking tidy and attractive please contact Resident Involvement to let them know.

If your garden is nominated for a prize we will let you know. NFDC officers will take photographs, for judging purposes, and you will be kept informed about what is going to happen next.

We will have up to 6 categories for nominated entries and the categories and winners will be decided by the Judging Panel at a later stage.

The Gardening Competition is Just for Fun and it gives us the opportunity to recognise and reward those residents who keep their gardens looking good. We are not looking for professional garden displays! We are looking for tenants who enjoy their garden and who take pride in making it look attractive.

The judging panel will comprise of tenants, Councillors and NFDC Officers and

Prizes for this year's competition will be

National Garden Centre vouchers to the value of £30.

This competition is open to all NFDC tenants or leaseholders (terms and conditions apply).

Closing date for all entries and nominations is Friday 11th July 2014

And there will be a Presentation Day and Swap Shop on Friday 12th September 2014
