New Forest District Council's Statement of Commitment to Equalities

In the Council's Corporate Plan for 2012-16 called "Delivering for our Communities", one of the Council's values is "Treating everyone fairly.

In order to live up to this value, we are committed to creating a community that recognises and celebrates diversity within a culture of respect and co-operation.

We appreciate that a culture which promotes equality will create a positive environment and a shared sense of belonging for all who live and work in and all who visit the New Forest District.

We will seek to build on former Corporate Equality Plans. We will engage constructively with all the protected groups as defined in the Equality Act 2010 as part of our overall aim of engaging the public in all that we do (as set out in our Community Engagement Framework).
