Upcoming Home Ownership Event

If you are interested in taking the first step towards home ownership, are holding their next event in October. Attendance will be completely free but you will have to register in advance.

The most recent event was held at at St. Mary's Stadium on 17th June. You can read the adobe icon statistics and feedback report [6Mb] which provides helpful information about the event.

Other information about Housing Development, including home ownership options and the Community Housing Fund, is also available.

Application forms are not sent by post. If you wish to apply to join the waiting list you will need to adobe icon Download a copy of the Homesearch Housing waiting list application form [133kb] or collect a copy from one of our local offices.

Welcome to New Forest Homesearch. This is the waiting list and allocation scheme for our properties and those for housing associations in the New Forest area.

Download our adobe icon Tenancy Strategy [64kb] or see our policy for the adobe icon Homesearch 2 Allocation Scheme [516kb] for more details.

The waiting list policy gives us greater control over who can be on the list. Changes include removing applicants with no connection to the area. We have also removed those considered unsuitable due to anti-social behaviour.

The tenancy strategy shows our approach to the tenancies offered to applicants. New tenants will be offered fixed-term tenancies, usually for five years, rather than lifetime tenancies. This helps us make best use of our housing by tackling under-occupation and encouraging tenants to explore other housing options, if they have the resources to do so.

Elderly and vulnerable people and existing tenancies will retain their lifetime security of tenure.

If you have any questions about the policies, please email the Housing Options team using the link above.
