#OurLuke knows you can fall in love with fitness

Luke teaches fitness classes at New Forest Health and Leisure Centres and has done for seven years, his philosophy is simple; "If you are active, your body and mind will thank you for it"

#OurLuke I believe I help give people the opportunity to get their bodies moving, to feel good or improve their fitness, and to release that happy hormone serotonin.

It's not just about the exercise and the movement, often people tell me that I have turned their day around and they leave my class happy, energised and inspired.  All different people, ages and abilities come along to my classes and I do my best to make sure everyone has a workout they enjoy and benefit from. 

I hope I help people feel they want to work out, rather than feeling like they have to work out.  And I love turning up to classes and seeing some regular faces return week after week. It makes me feel like I must be doing something right!

Recently I was proud to be able to help a customer who has been given the all-clear from cancer. She came to a Bodybalance class, nervous because it was her first class back after treatment. Although she said she found it hard, she said it was amazing to be back and left happy and looking forward to coming again. 

If I could sum up my love of exercise, I would say, get moving - be that walking, running, jumping.  Whatever you do just move, we weren't designed to be still! Exercising doesn't always have to be high impact, high intensity. If a class to music is your thing do it. Prefer yoga or pilates? Do that. Prefer just a quiet walk in the forest? Do that too. So long as you are active your body and mind will thank you for it.
