Why we need to process your personal information.

To ensure the correct performance of the business waste service. This ensures we deliver the service correctly, efficiently and safely and collect the correct bins and sacks of waste and recycling.

What information do we need to collect?

The information we collect includes; business name, contact name, postal address, email address, telephone contact numbers.

We will use your information to;

Register your organisation on our system to ensure that the rubbish and recycling operatives collect the waste and/or recycling

Provide notifications directly affecting the delivery of our service to you including changes to collection days and collection closure/downtimes. These notifications may be made by telephone or sent by email, text message, mobile application, post or other means

Inform you if your contract with us is nearing expiry

Inform you of any price increases

Ensure compliance with Duty of Care requirements

We may need to share your information with our service providers, associated organisations and agents for the above purposes (Worldpay). We WILL NOT share your information with any external party for marketing or promotional purposes.

What are the legal grounds for processing your information

Where it is in the public interest to do so;

In order to perform a contract;

Where it is in the legitimate interest of NFDC to do so;

With your consent or explicit consent. For example when dealing with sensitive issues, such as health related matters.

New Forest District Council Waste & Recycling staff, ICT Department, and service software providers.

How long will we keep your information? 

For as long as we provide your business waste service and for a maximum of two years after.

Information we may collect from you whilst you are using our web services

We may collect information about your computer including your IP address, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users' browsing actions and patterns.

Where we store your web based personal data

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. We take every precaution to ensure data is safe and secure however we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.
