Quads for quids - £3,600+ raised in Health & Leisure's Sport Relief fundraiser

Staff and customers from our Lymington, New Milton, and Ringwood Health and Leisure Centres were joined by shoppers last week (22/23/24th March ) to help boost a Sport Relief fundraiser with a cyclathon.

With two bikes at Waitrose Lymington, five bikes and a rower at Sainsbury's Christchurch, and four bikes and a rower at Sainsburys' Ringwood, participants clocked up many miles with one participant, Terry Mangles aged 72,  cycling 190 miles.

Cllr James Binns, our Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Wellbeing, joined fundraisers in Ringwood and said, "It is great to see our staff and customers having fun as they raise much needed money for Sport Relief.

"Overall 1600 miles were cycled and rowed by 90 people  - that's equivalent to travelling from Lyndhurst to Paris and back again, twice!"

Rob Mangles, Centre Manager at the Ringwood Health & Leisure Centre, said, "We wanted to show our support within the local community whilst promoting health and fitness for such a worthy cause as Sport Relief "

Their dedicated efforts helped raise an incredible £3,671.48.  Well done all.
