Historic Parks and Gardens

Nationally significant Parks and Gardens are identified by English Heritage and included in a national Register. These assets may vary from large, planned historic parkland associated with 18C Country houses, through public parks and designed civic spaces to small private gardens that may have been designed by renowned landscape gardeners.

There is currently only one historic park and garden (Breamore) on the national register in New Forest District. However, there are a significant number of these assets that have been identified as locally important and these are held on the Hampshire Register which is maintained on behalf of the county by the Hampshire Gardens Trust.
