Council services during severe weather

For updates on any of our services affected by weather conditions  please follow us on Facebook and Twitter and visit Severe weather - finding out about council services (this page is only live during severe weather incidents).

Coastal safety

During periods of adverse weather and heavy rainfall it is not uncommon for some erosion and ground movement to take place along the coastline and cliff tops. To ensure your safety, please take notice of any warning signs when visiting the coast.

Rubbish and recycling

Snow, ice and flooding can make some roads, particularly in rural areas, inaccessible. This may mean that we have to postpone refuse collections - we will post any changes on our website homepage as well as Facebook and Twitter.

Look out for vulnerable neighbours

Spare a thought for family, friends or neighbours who may be at risk of ill health or need assistance during severe weather.

If you have serious concerns about the welfare of any elderly or vulnerable people in your community during times of adverse weather, you can seek advice from Hampshire County Council Adult Services on 0300 555 1386 or out of hours 0300 555 1373
