Directions to the Town Hall Lymington

By road from London/South East

Join M25 southbound.

Take M3 turn off (Junction 12) heading towards Basingstoke/Southampton.

Follow M3 to Junction 13 (M27 West).

Take M27 West turn off to Bournemouth.

Leave M27 at Exit 1 (Cadnam and Lyndhurst).

By road from South West

Lymington can be approached from one of two ways.

From Salisbury / Warminster join A36 to Junction 2 of M27.

Leave M27 at Exit 1 (Cadnam and Lyndhurst).

Now see 'Directions from Lyndhurst' below.

From Bournemouth take the A337 through Christchurch, New Milton and Pennington.

As you enter Lymington you will pass a Safeways Supermarket on your left and then come to a set of traffic lights.

Turn right at the traffic lights into Avenue Road.

The Town Hall can be found 500 yards ahead on the right hand side.

On entering the grounds, the visitors parking can be found on the left hand side.


By road from the north

Join M1 or A1 southbound.

Leave M1 at junction 6a or leave A1 at junction 1.

Then follow directions as for London and South East.


By road from the west

Join M4 eastbound to Junction 18.

Follow A46 to Batheaston.

Pick up A36 to Warminster.

Now follow directions for 'By Road from South West'.


By road from the Midlands

Join M40 or M1 southbound.

Join M25 to Junction 12.

Take M3 turn off towards Basingstoke / Southampton.

Now follow directions as for London and South East.


Directions from Lyndhurst

Leave M27 at Exit 1 (Cadnam and Lyndhurst).

At bottom of slip road turn left at roundabout.

At next roundabout take 3rd exit to Lyndhurst - A337.

On entering Lyndhurst you turn left (compulsory) at the Traffic Lights.

Follow the signs for the A337 Brockenhurst / Lymington.

Continue along the A337 straight through Brockenhurst, over the railway lines and straight on to Lymington.

On reaching Lymington at the mini roundabout continue straight on along Southampton Road until you reach the traffic lights.

Turn left at the traffic lights into Avenue Road.

The Town Hall can be found 500 years ahead on the right hand side.

On entering the grounds, the visitors parking can be found on the left hand side.


By rail

The closest train station is in Lymington itself, however the train only stops here about once an hour.

It would take about 10 - 15 minutes to walk from the train station in Lymington to the Town Hall.

When you leave the station walk straight ahead up Station Street to the next junction, turn right into Gosport Lane and continue straight at the mini roundabout to the next mini roundabout, turn left into East Hill which becomes Avenue Road. The Town Hall is on your left just past the Hospital Infirmary (which is on the right).

Alternatively, more trains stop at Brockenhurst, which is part of South West Railways network. Main joining stations to commence your journey include Waterloo, Basingstoke, Winchester, Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth. The telephone number of South West Trains is 0345 484950.

From Brockenhurst station you will need either a short bus or taxi ride. You should allow 15 minutes for the taxi journey.

By bus

The Bus from Totton, Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst to Lymington is a No. 56 or 56A, which runs half hourly.

The telephone number of the Wilts and Dorset Bus station is (01590) 672382.

There is a bus stop opposite a new housing estate next to Queen Elizabeth Avenue. When you get off the bus head towards the traffic lights.

At the traffic lights, turn left into Avenue Road. The council offices can be found 500 yards ahead on the right hand side.

The visitors entrance is at the front of the building.
