Introduction to licensing

LICENSING ACT 2003 - SECTION 5
CONSULTATION ON THE REVIEW OF THE STATEMENT OF LICENSING POLICY

In accordance with the above legislation, notice is given that a 12 week consultation on the current statement of licensing policy for the New Forest District Council will begin on the 22 May 2015 and end on the 14 August 2015.

The policy provides transparency for all those involved in the licensing regime including local residents, responsible authorities and applicants.

I therefore invite your comments regarding the current policy and any other relevant matters that you would like to raise including any of the following considerations that are detailed below:

  • The cumulative impact of concentrations of licensed premises;
  • Areas suitable for Public Spaces Protection Orders;
  • Early morning alcohol restriction orders;
  • A late night levy;
  • The impact of the Live Music Act, Deregulation Act and other Amendment Orders.

The policy can be viewed on the Councils website at: Statement Of Licensing Policy

Paper copies are available from the licensing office upon request.

All comments received will be assessed by the Council's General Purpose and Licensing Committee before a revised policy is published by the Council.

If you require any additional information please contact Licensing Services.
